Miniature Hand-Carved Beech Spoons
in Jaipur, Rajasthan
Miniature hand-carved beech spoons in Jaipur — finished with LEINOS Countertop Oil 280. Food-safe DIN 53160 surface preserving the fine beech grain.

Context
The brief, and the surface.
Two miniature spoons hand-carved from beech wood in a Jaipur workshop. Beech is a fine-grained hardwood that takes detail well but absorbs oil quickly — the team needed a food-safe oil that would seal without filming over the spoon profile. LEINOS Countertop Oil 280 was applied with a cloth pad in three thin coats.
Beech end-grain on the spoon handle and bowl-end took oil at 3× the rate of face-grain — the team applied extra wipe-back passes on the end-grain after each coat to keep the saturation even with the side grain. Three coats with 16-hour intervals; 14-day cure before any food contact.
