A solid teak kitchen board set — paired VEG & FRUITS and MEAT & POULTRY chopping boards in an upright knife-block stand — built and finished by @teakin_decor and shared on their Instagram with LEINOS tagged. After sanding the teak smooth, the maker brushed on LEINOS Countertop Oil 280, an oil WESSLING-tested for direct food contact. It soaks into the dense teak and cures to a washable, water-repellent surface rather than a film, so the boards take daily kitchen use and can be re-oiled as they wear.
Chopping boards are a true food-contact surface, so the finish matters as much as the joinery. A penetrating oil suits them better than a film varnish: Countertop Oil 280 soaks into the teak leaving no coating to chip into food, it re-applies to a worn board without stripping, and it is WESSLING-tested for direct food contact (ready once fully cured, about seven days). The maker oils the boards and the knife-block faces in one pass.

Outcome
The result on site.
A solid teak kitchen board set finished in LEINOS Countertop Oil 280 — WESSLING-tested for direct food contact, washable, and re-oilable as the boards wear.
The finished set reads as warm, satin teak — grain raised by the oil, no plastic film. As a food-safe oil rather than a varnish, Countertop Oil 280 leaves the boards safe for direct food contact once cured, washable, and repairable: a dry or worn board comes back with a fresh coat rather than a refinish.
Results vary by surface condition, climate exposure, application method, and ongoing maintenance.
