Bathroom in Mumbai — walls coated with LEINOS Anti-Mould Lime Paint 665 in white. Breathable mineral finish for a high-humidity coastal wet-room.

Bathroom interior in Mumbai with white LEINOS Anti-Mould Lime Paint 665 walls above dark slate floor tiles and natural-stone fixtures.

Context

The brief, and the surface.

Bathroom walls in a Mumbai residence, set above dark slate floor tiles and natural-stone fixtures. The walls needed a breathable, mould-resistant coating that would handle constant humidity loading from the shower and coastal salt-air ingress. LEINOS Anti-Mould Lime Paint 665 in white was applied in three coats, with the splash zone around the shower getting a fourth coat for moisture loading.

Coastal Mumbai humidity stretched drying intervals to 8-10 hours between coats. The team checked moisture-meter readings at the wall surface before each new coat — applying lime paint over a still-damp previous coat causes flashing at the join. Splash-zone fourth coat was applied as a vertical wipe-pattern rather than W-strokes to mimic the runoff path.

Conditions on Site

Surface
Interior plastered mineral substrate — bathroom walls above slate floor and natural-stone fixtures
Climate & Exposure
Coastal Mumbai indoor wet-room — climate-controlled, high humidity, salt-air ingress
Limitations
  • Coastal humidity stretches drying intervals to 8-10 hours — verify moisture-meter readings between coats
  • Splash zone — fourth coat in vertical wipe-pattern for moisture loading at the shower face

Outcome

The result on site.

Bathroom walls in Mumbai coated with LEINOS Anti-Mould Lime Paint 665 — breathable mineral finish with no mould growth observed at six months in the high-humidity coastal wet-room.

The white lime paint provides a clean, matte mineral finish across the bathroom walls. The breathability lets shower vapour escape through the coating rather than condensing on the surface; no mould growth has appeared at six months on the splash-zone wall.

Results vary by surface condition, climate exposure, application method, and ongoing maintenance.
