Exterior Wood
Outdoor Terrace Deck with Red-Toned Oil
in Gurugram, Haryana
Outdoor terrace deck in Gurugram — sealed with LEINOS Terrace Wood Oil 236 in the red-toned variant. Saturated reddish-brown finish that lets the deck breathe under North Indian monsoon.

Context
The brief, and the surface.
A large exterior wooden deck spanning a residential terrace, exposed to the North Indian monsoon cycle and summer UV stress. The team needed a deck oil that would deepen the wood tone toward red without forming a film. LEINOS Terrace Wood Oil 236 in the red-pigmented variant was brushed on in two thin coats.
The team brushed wet-on-wet, working two-board strips at a time so the oil edges stayed alive and no overlap marks formed. The second coat followed 18 hours after the first, after the surface had cured tack-free under the Gurugram afternoon sun.
Conditions on Site
- Surface
- Exterior wooden decking — untreated absorbent timber boards
- Climate & Exposure
- North Indian inland — monsoon-cyclical, summer UV stress, winter dry
- Limitations
- Open-pore oil — recoat at 12-18 months per TDS, not a film-forming system
- Red-pigmented variant — pigment refresh on each recoat to maintain saturation

Outcome
The result on site.
Across the Gurugram terrace, LEINOS Terrace Wood Oil 236 in the red-toned variant delivers a uniform reddish-brown finish with the wood grain still visible through the oil.
The boards carry a deep saturated reddish-brown tone with the grain still legible through the oil. The surface reads matte at glancing angle, slightly satin at 45° to the sun. No puddling at the board ends after the first monsoon shower.
Results vary by surface condition, climate exposure, application method, and ongoing maintenance.
