Context

The brief, and the surface.

A round above-ground pool framed by a custom-built curved wooden deck, set in the Dehradun foothills at ~600m elevation. The deck needed a sealer that would handle near-constant pool splash through summer and freeze-thaw cycles through winter. LEINOS Terrace Wood Oil 236 in the grey-pigmented variant was brushed on in two thin coats following the radial board pattern.

The team brushed radially, board by board, keeping wet edges alive across the curve so no overlap marks formed at the radii. Drying intervals stretched to 22 hours between coats at the higher altitude — the air carries less heat at 600m than on the plains.

The deck reads as a uniform contemporary grey with the wood grain still legible through the oil. Pool splash pools briefly on the board face then dries clean without leaving white efflorescence. No checking observed at the board ends after the first winter cycle.
