Two rough-sawn timber garden tables built from reclaimed boards, set on a lawn in the Dehradun foothills exposed to monsoon and direct UV. The pieces needed an exterior oil that would penetrate the rough-sawn texture without filming over it and without flattening the hand-built character. LEINOS Terrace Wood Oil 236 in the dark-stain variant was brushed on in two thin coats.
Rough-sawn timber soaks oil unevenly — the team kept the brush moving and added a third pass where the surface stayed dry-looking after 10 minutes. Drying intervals ran 20 hours between coats in the cooler Dehradun foothill air.

Two reclaimed-timber garden tables in Dehradun, sealed with LEINOS Terrace Wood Oil 236 in dark-stain, survive a full monsoon plus UV cycle with no surface greying at the leg-bottom lawn contact.
Both tables carry a deep dark-stained finish with the rough-sawn grain still tactile under hand. Water sheets off the tops; no greying observed at the leg-bottom contact with the lawn after the first season.
Results vary by surface condition, climate exposure, application method, and ongoing maintenance.
