PURE WATER-GLASS CONSOLIDATING PRIMER · ART. 611
LEINOS 611 Profi-Fixativ — a clear, liquid, pure mineral water glass (potassium silicate) with 0% organic components. It soaks into raw, absorbent, or friable mineral walls to consolidate them, and doubles as the 10–20% thinner for ProfiGrund 610 and the ProfiSol / UniverSil facade paints. Solvent-free, VOC 0 g/l, non-flammable, vapour- and CO₂-permeable, alkaline pH 11, mould- and algae-preventing. The consolidating foundation of the LEINOS mineral facade system. Made in Germany by Reincke Naturfarben since 1985.
Mechanism & Use
Pure water glass silicifies into a raw, absorbent substrate and consolidates it — no film, no organics. The same clear fixativ thins the filler-primer and facade paint, so the whole mineral system goes on evenly.
Highly silicification-capable pure water glass soaks into a raw, highly absorbent, or slightly friable mineral wall and firms it into a sound, load-bearing base. It becomes a mineral part of the substrate rather than a film on top — the difference between a wall the facade system can grip and one that keeps dusting and drinking.
The same clear fixativ that consolidates the substrate is also the thinner for ProfiGrund 610 and the ProfiSol / UniverSil facade paints. Adding 10–20% regulates the wall’s draw and the paint’s workability, so one mineral chemistry runs through primer, filler, and topcoat instead of an alien thinner breaking the system.
No film, no organic additives, no biocides. The consolidated wall stays vapour- and CO₂-permeable, so moisture is not sealed in between substrate and facade paint and the build-up does not blister or peel through monsoon wet-and-dry cycles the way a synthetic sealer can.
The high-pH mineral surface denies mould, algae, and fungi a foothold from the foundation up — protection built into the chemistry, not a leaching biocide. Non-flammable, with long-lasting UV and weathering resistance that carries into the durability of the whole facade system.
Where It Lives
Consolidating raw, highly absorbent plaster
A raw, thirsty, or slightly friable mineral wall that dusts and drinks would rob the facade paint of its binder and telegraph patchy absorbency. One saturating Profi-Fixativ coat soaks in, firms the surface, and regulates the draw, so the filler-primer and facade paint land on a sound, even base.
Thinning ProfiGrund and the facade paints
The same clear fixativ is the 10–20% thinner for ProfiGrund 610 and the ProfiSol / UniverSil fine facade paints. One mineral chemistry regulates workability from the foundation coat to the topcoat — no alien thinner to break the silicate system.
Clay (Lehm) walls before a mineral topcoat
Where the fibre-reinforced ProfiGrund is not used, the clear fixativ is. On clay (Lehm) — after the equalising moisture has dried and loose grain is removed — it is primed saturatingly in several coats to consolidate the surface for a mineral finish.
Air-lime plaster before overcoating
Air-lime plaster is left to harden, then Profi-Fixativ consolidates it and regulates its absorbency so the mineral topcoat bonds evenly instead of flashing over soft, thirsty patches.
WDVS/ETICS and sound old coatings
On thermal-insulation composite systems and firmly adhering old coatings — cleaned and dried through — the fixativ firms and evens the surface before ProfiGrund and the facade paint, keeping the whole build-up vapour-open.
Heritage & conservation mineral facades
Historic plastered elevations where a vapour-open, mineral, biocide-free foundation matters. Profi-Fixativ consolidates the old surface without a sealing film and keeps the facade breathing — a conservation-grade base for a mineral topcoat.

Prepare the mineral substrate. All surfaces are prepared per VOB Part C DIN 18363 — the substrate must be mineral, porous, clean, firm, dry, and load-bearing. Remove any sinter skin on lime and cement plaster (P1–P3); let air-lime plaster harden. Assess doubtful substrates individually and lay a sample area first.

Stir thoroughly and sieve. Water glass skins on the rim and lid — stir the LEINOS 611 canister well and sieve the clear liquid to remove any dried particles before use. This material-typical step gives an even, blemish-free primer coat.

Prime saturatingly. Work the clear fixativ into the raw, absorbent wall so it soaks in and consolidates — brush (recommended), roller, or airless. Never build a sealed, glassy over-coat (Verglasung); the fixativ must firm the surface, not form a film. Clay (Lehm) and highly absorbent walls take several saturating coats.

Or use it as the thinner. The same clear fixativ is ProfiGrund’s own 10–20% thinner and the thinner for the ProfiSol and UniverSil facade paints — add 10–20% to suit the substrate and your working method. It regulates absorbency and workability without weakening the mineral bond.

Let it firm, protected. Allow at least 12 hours before overcoating; protect the fresh coat from rain, direct sun, and heat while it sets. Do not apply below +8°C. The consolidated wall needs this window to firm into a sound mineral base.

Build the facade system over it. Profi-Fixativ is a foundation, never a finish — level the wall with ProfiGrund 610, then finish with ProfiSol Facade Paint Fine 612 or UniverSil Facade Paint Fine 614. Clean tools, substrate, and clothing immediately with water.

Coverage & Pack Sizes
Roughly 0.04 kg/m² per coat on smooth, normally absorbent substrates (≈ 270 sq ft per kilogram). Raw, friable, or highly absorbent walls drink more and may need several saturating coats; the figure below is per single coat.

Mineral Water Glass (potassium silicate)
The sole binder — clear, liquid potassium water glass. It soaks into an absorbent mineral wall and silicifies into it, consolidating the surface as a mineral part of the substrate rather than a film on top. Solvent-free, water-borne.
Water
The only carrier. Profi-Fixativ is water-borne and water-thinnable, ready to use as a primer and as the 10–20% thinner for the ProfiGrund filler-primer and the facade paints.
Zero Organic Additives
0% organic components (per VOB/C DIN 18363 2.4.1) — no film-forming polymers, no preservatives, no biocides. The purity is what keeps the coat vapour-open and mineral.
