INTERIOR VINTAGE CARE WAX · ART. 635
The wax that seals a vintage finish and keeps it silky.
LEINOS 635 — a water-based carnauba-wax emulsion that seals and cares for the LEINOS vintage finish, and refreshes any oiled, waxed or lacquered surface. Massage it in, let it dry, polish to a silky sheen. Antistatic, dirt-repellent, near-zero VOC.
Mechanism & Use
How LEINOS 635 Vintage Finish works.
A water-based carnauba-wax emulsion that seals a finished vintage surface into a silky, protective film — and keeps it breathing.
Water carries the wax in
A water-based emulsion of carnauba and micro wax goes on undiluted and massages into the surface — low odour, near-zero VOC, no solvent.
Wax seals to a silky sheen
As the water leaves, the carnauba and micro wax coalesce into a thin film you polish to a silky, well-buffed lustre.
Antistatic and dirt-repellent
The cured wax film resists dust, dirt and light abrasion, and its antistatic surface stays cleaner for longer.
Diffusion-open: it keeps breathing
The film is vapour-permeable, so the sealed wood or wall keeps exchanging moisture instead of being locked under plastic.

Antistatic, low-dust surfaces
The antistatic film stays cleaner for longer on much-touched pieces.
Compliance · EU · Origin
Declared in full. Made in Germany.
Water-based and near-zero VOC — the anchors that let 635 go into an occupied interior without disclaimers. No toy-safe or food-contact claim: 635 carries a preservative and is a care and sealing wax, not a skin-contact finish.
635 is water-based and near-zero VOC, so it can be worked in occupied rooms with normal ventilation. It carries a preservative (benzisothiazolinone) to protect the emulsion in the bottle — full ingredient disclosure and the SDS are available on request. For a children’s-furniture or food-contact wood finish, ask our team for the right LEINOS oil instead: 635 is a decorative care and sealing wax, not a toy-safe coating.

Applied to taste as a thin care coat, undiluted, so there is no fixed spread rate. Supplied in 0.25 L and 1 L bottles; our team can estimate for a specific piece.
Drying Time
Dries quickly to a polishable state; exact time depends on film thickness and room climate (per TDS). Let it dry before polishing.

Step by Step
How to Apply
Start with a finished, dry surface — on a vintage piece that is 331 Vintage Wood Ground coloured with 668 and sanded back; on other work, a cured oiled, waxed or lacquered surface. It must be clean, dry and dust-free.

Apply 635 undiluted — dispense a little of the creamy wax emulsion onto a soft cotton cloth. No thinning and no primer; the emulsion is ready to use straight from the bottle.

Massage it in gently — work a thin, even film into the surface with the cloth in small circular motions, following the grain. Keep the coat thin: it is a care wax, not a build coat.

Let it dry — the film dries quickly to a soft, matt, polishable state. Give it time to set evenly before you buff.

Polish to a silky sheen — buff the dried wax with a clean soft cloth or a polishing pad until an even silky lustre comes up. The polished film is antistatic and dirt-repellent.

Refresh anytime — a finished piece stays protected, and a dulled or much-used surface revives with a light re-coat and a polish. Clean tools and hands with water and LEINOS Vegetable Soap 930.

Application Conditions
- Surface must be finished, cured, clean, dry and dust-free.
- Interior use.
- On a vintage piece, follow the technical data sheets of 331 and 668 first.
Coats & Recoating
- Apply a thin coat undiluted; massage in and let dry before polishing.
- Drying depends on film thickness and room climate — let it dry before buffing.
- Refresh a dulled surface with a light re-coat and a polish.
Cleaning & Storage
- Clean tools immediately after use with water and LEINOS Vegetable Soap 930. Close the bottle well after use.
- Store cool but frost-free, and close the bottle well after use. Shelf life at least 2 years in the sealed bottle.

System & Substrates
The seal that finishes the vintage system.
635 is the third step of the vintage system — 331 lays the ground, 668 adds the colour, 635 seals it. It is also a standalone care wax for oiled, waxed and lacquered surfaces. Supplied in 0.25 L and 1 L bottles and applied to taste, so there is no fixed spread rate; our team can estimate for a specific piece.
The Vintage System
Ground, colour, seal — three steps to an authentic patina.

Substrate Fit
635 works on — and what it doesn’t.
Suitable
Recommended substrates
- Vintage-finished interior wood — furniture and decorative pieces (331 + 668 system)
- Oiled and waxed wood furniture needing care and refreshing
- Lacquered interior wood surfaces
- LEINOS vintage decorative walls (631 system)
- Any cured oiled, waxed or lacquered interior surface, especially furniture
Honest Limits
Where to use a different product
- Bare, unfinished or absorbent wood — 635 is a seal and care wax, not a base. For a vintage wood ground use LEINOS 331 Vintage Wood Ground
- Exterior wood and weather-exposed surfaces — 635 is an interior care wax. For outdoor wood use LEINOS 236 Terrace Wood Oil
- Floors and high-traffic surfaces — 635 is a care wax, not a wearing floor finish. For durable floors use LEINOS 290 Interior Hardwax Oil
- Children’s toys and food-contact surfaces — 635 carries a preservative and is not certified for skin or food contact.
Use With Care
Working safely with 635
- Contains 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one (benzisothiazolinone) — may trigger allergic reactions.
- Not certified for toys or food contact.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Avoid release to the environment.
- SDS available on request.

Composition
Every ingredient declared on the label. The Trust Hub explains what each one does and the standards behind it.
Carnauba & micro wax
Carnauba (Brazilian palm, the hardest natural wax) and micro wax form the protective body. As the water evaporates they coalesce into a thin, polishable film that repels dirt and water yet stays open-pored.
Water carrier
Water is the carrier instead of a solvent — the reason 635 has almost no odour, cleans up with water, and tests at just 1 g/l VOC. It evaporates as the wax sets.
Plant emulsifier & methylcellulose
A plant-derived emulsifier disperses the wax evenly through the water phase, and a methylcellulose thickener gives the emulsion its creamy, workable body — then leaves the film vapour-permeable so the surface keeps breathing.
Benzisothiazolinone
A preservative that protects the water-based emulsion in the bottle. It is an allergen (see SDS) — which is why 635 is a care and sealing wax, not a toy-safe or food-contact finish.
Got Questions?
Frequently Asked
Quick answers on formulation, application and Indian-climate suitability. Pulled from our full FAQ and TDS library.
- Many decorative finishes are wipe-clean once fully cured. Check the specific product for wet abrasion class rating.
- Apply a thin coat undiluted; massage in and let dry before polishing. Drying depends on film thickness and room climate — let it dry before buffing. Refresh a dulled surface with a light re-coat and a polish.
- LEINOS decorative finishes have minimal odour from natural ingredients. The room can typically be used within 24 hours after application.
- 635 is a clear care and sealing wax — it carries no pigment. On a vintage piece the colour comes earlier, from Pigment Concentrate 668 over the 331 ground; 635 goes on last to seal and protect that finish with a silky sheen.
- No. On a vintage piece 635 is the third step, sealing the 331 ground and 668 colour. But it also works on its own as a care wax — it protects and refreshes any cured oiled, waxed or lacquered surface, especially furniture.
- 635 is water-based and near-zero VOC, but it carries a preservative (benzisothiazolinone) to protect the emulsion in the bottle, so it is not certified for toys or food contact. For a children’s or food-safe wood finish, ask our team about the right LEINOS oil.
- 635 comes in 0.25 L and 1 L bottles. Because it is massaged on undiluted and applied to taste as a thin care coat, coverage varies with the surface and the finish you are refreshing; our team can help estimate for a specific piece.
